Eden Project – The Gig

Good show to the League of Random Songs, who were gigging at the Eden Project.  There will be some videos and photos up soon of the performance, which would be awesome. I have the Lead Singer’s account of the day So I’ll let him tell you how things went:

The Eden project gig on Wednesday 11th Feb. 2009,

At 1.15 the gang and I set off on the bus with the horrible small person at the back of the bus making lots of noise so after throwing loads of abuse at her until her confidence to talk at all was crushed to the point of not talking again or the rest of the day, we sat and talked about the immense amount of people that were going to be there.

After turning up at Eden we noticed the fact that there were no cars in the car park and no people queuing up and screaming for us. Because it wasn’t as we thought it was and let our imaginations run a bit wild so there were about 200 people there… a bit less than the 2000 people we thought were going to be there but anyway there was TV coverage and LOADS of free stuff! Unfortunately there was free ice skating this led to one of our friends falling over and cutting his leg… sort of open. But it was fun none the less because I mentioned the socks off this wonderful website once after each song practically making them recite the http address. But apart from a cock-up or two it was good.

So there we have it, straight from the man himself. TV coverage, international fame, banned in an entire country… PillowMint will, one day, rule the internet and become more popular than google. Well, maybe that’s a little over-ambitious but maybe, just maybe, one day I will rule the world… And have the band write and play my theme tune…

*cough*

Anyway, time for me to go now.

Take care,

Martin

Good Luck

Just a quick  one to say good luck to The League of Random Songs, the band that we sponsor. They will be playing today at the Eden Project for some reason. It really wasn’t explained terribly well, but they should be on the television and hopefully there will be a mentioning of the site.

So good luck guys!

Break a leg.

Martin :)

I Come from a Land Snowed Under…

‘It will never stick.’ Those four words plagued me on tuesday of last week as I woke up to a blizzard. I remember saying this around the dinner table the previous night and I instantly knew the ribbing I would receive from my mother and sister now that a blanket of white covered the roads, gardens and rooftops of the small village of Breage.

Sure enough there was ribbing-a-plenty when the radio painfully announced that my college was closed due to the snow. Only painful due to the fact that I was extremely wrong, but great in the sense that it meant that I got to crawl back into bed and sleep for another few hours.

The actual day was mainly spent either dancing around my room to the Pet Shop Boys and various other horrible, horrible eighties tunes or writing in Spanish. This essay is proving to be very difficult. I have to write 1,500 words in Spanish on ETA, the terrorist group. I can’t even do this in English. What can I really say about them?

Anyway, I also went for a snow run which was amazing although falling over is never a good thing. I think for the majority of the run I was doing an impression of a ballerina on ice skates who had never been to a single ballet class and who was wearing one of the skates as a mitten. Not really much to say about the snow day to be honest. I kinda find it hard to write about a day where, pretty much, sod all happened.

My Red vs Blue DVDs arrived on Thursday which I was most impressed at. Only took 5 weeks to get from the USA to here. But the wait was well worth it and I’d like to thank the guys at Rooster Teeth for putting together such an amazing series.

Right time for me to go now, but will update again asap.

Welcome to the goody-room!
